The pandemic requires us to stay in front of our computer screens longer than usual, due to the online classes or meetings. So, we need keyboards and mice that can help us do our usual tasks as students, such as typing up reports, essays, notes and programs for example, efficiently and ergonomically.

The following keyboards are some of the ones that we tried this year. This list will be updated once we try other products. Read on to find out more about our thoughts on what we tried!

Price: $ 66.99

Features: Includes a vertical mouse and numeric keypad

Pros:

  • Design of the ergonomic keyboard and mouse help avoid improper hand posture and prevents any hand strain/injury

Cons:

  • Vertical mouse can be big for some people

  • Your fingers can get a burning sensation depending on how long you use the keyboard, which can can vary from person to person

Overall: It is a good combo for students who are concerned about their posture and strain/injury prevention to the wrists and hands. Since most ergonomic peripherals are expensive, we think that this combo is a good deal for students.

Price: $ 72.00

Features:

  • Anti-ghosting, which is good for gamers

  • RGB backlit

  • Volume control

Pros:

  • Great aesthetics

  • Key caps are removable

  • Numeric keypad is included, which is very useful for students

  • Has black switches, so key caps can be changed (We have a similar keyboard, but different brand)

  • Has a knob that controls the light intensity, light mode and volume

Cons:

  • Considered expensive compared to the first one. No mouse included

  • Keycaps are too soft

  • Fingertips will have a burning sensation when used for a long period, which can vary from person to person

  • Letters are small

Overall: It is good if you prefer an aesthetic peripheral on your desk. To boost the aesthetic, the keyboard's removable keycaps allows you to customize the appearance of the keyboard to your liking.

Price: $ 39.99

Features: Can be connected to any device via bluetooth.

Pros:

  • Since it is a wireless interface, you can place it on your right or left side

  • Useful if you are a TA/GA, a student or if you are employed in a capacity involving regular numerical data entry and calculations because it can help you be efficient in numerical data entry

  • Has a sleep feature, which causes the device to turn off when not in use

Cons: Non-rechargeable

Overall: Great when portability is concerned, due to the weight of the device
